school age
PAL-A-ROO'S
offers a complete program for school age children in a safe, organized
and supervised environment. Teachers
are available to assist children with homework in a separate, quite area.
The school age program is by design one of the more unstructured environments at PAL-A-ROO’S. We feel the children have been in a structured environment all day at school, therefore, we make every attempt to emulate the home environment as closely as possible. Therefore, recreation is a major part of the after school program and takes up much of the afternoon after homework is complete. Children will have access to the Internet via the computers in the after school classroom. Each computer has Internet patrolling software installed that filters out all inappropriate sites for children.
In addition to our playgrounds, we have a heated and cooled indoor gymnasium for such activities as basketball, volleyball, etc. This area can also be used when the weather does not permit outdoor activities.
When the
public schools are closed during the school year we have a full-day program rich
in hands-on activities and field trips. Arts,
crafts, science projects, sports and e-mail pen pals are just some of the
activities our school age children enjoy.
Summer camp is
offered during summer vacation. The
program has full-day supervised activities and recreation along with many
exciting field trips. Our school
age children enjoy skating, picnics, educational tours, trips to the zoo,
movies, local plays, sports, etc. during summer camp. Summer camp at
PAL-A-ROO'S is a fun-filled learning
experience.
