our program

Welcome to PAL-A-ROO’S Child Development Center!  PAL-A-ROO’S is family established, owned and operated, offering full time, part time and drop in care. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment, rich in learning, where children can achieve their full potential. The center’s Four Star license allows for smaller group sizes and more personal attention. IMG0075.jpg (3166 bytes)

PAL-A-ROO’S is open form 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Tours are given between 9-11 with no appointment necessary. We invite you to come by one of our centers.  Our University City center is located at 9215 Mallard Creek Road. We are conveniently located between the intersections of Harris Blvd and Prosperity Church/Mallard Creek Church Road.

Our Huntersville center is located at 12700 Statesville Road (Hwy 21).  We are conveniently located at the intersection of Hwy 21 and Verhoeff Drive.  Our entrance is well-located on Verhoeff Drive (which connects Old Statesville Road (Hwy 115) and Hwy 21).  Therefore, excellent access is available from I-77 exit 23, Statesville Road (Hwy 21) and Old Statesville Road (Hwy 115).

PAL-A-ROO’S provides a morning snack, a full hot lunch and afternoon snack - all of which exceed the state nutritional requirements. Starting in the Waddler room meals and snacks are served in a family style environment, creating additional opportunities for children to develop social and language skills.

Safety is strongly emphasized at PAL-A-ROO’S. The center is fully OSHA compliant, and we hold an additional certification of safety for our playgrounds above that required by the state. Additionally, each class enjoys its own playground. PAL-A-ROO’S also has a surveillance system which continuously records each classroom. Entry into the center is restricted.   Upon enrollment of their child, parents are issued a security code to access the computerized entry system.  All full time staff members are fully certified in First Aid and infant/child CPR.IMG0020.jpg (2670 bytes)

PAL-A-ROO’S is among the first centers in the country to offer parents the opportunity to view secured, real time color images of their child interacting in the classroom or on the playground through our PAL-A-VIEWS™ technology. Parents may authorize relatives to view children as well.  We offer this feature FREE to our parents!!

Our qualified staff at PAL-A-ROO’S knows that each child is unique - differing in the desire and ability to learn. Our programs are specifically designed to be structured, stimulating and challenging. We encourage each child to learn, explore and experiment at his/her own pace.

PAL-A-ROO’S implements a curriculum for all age groups based on the Addison-Wesley Active Learning Series program. This program includes field tested activities which help young children develop their minds and bodies as they learn from the world around them. This learningIMG0003.jpg (2794 bytes) program is designed to be age specific and developmentally appropriate. Combined with our highly acclaimed The Letter People curriculum that begins in the pre-school program (three year-old class), our ultimate goal is to prepare your child for Kindergarten. Test scores show that PAL-A-ROO’S graduates consistently place at the top of their Kindergarten class

A detailed activity plan is posted in the Infant through Toddler classrooms featuring activities appropriate for the younger child, such as communication/social skills, problem solving, music, motor activities and books. The preschool classrooms focus on a more detailed lesson plan which includes fine and gross motor activities, language/book center, home-living/dramatic play, art, music, teacher directed activities and free play.
