Welcome To Pal-A-Roo’s Early Childhood & Child Development Center in Charlotte
Pal-A-Roo’s is a family-owned and operated child care and preschool provider offering full-time, part-time and drop-in care for families in the Charlotte area since 1995. Pal-A-Roo’s provides an environment that encourages children to achieve their full potential in a supportive, fun-filled atmosphere promoting physical, emotional, ethical, creative, intellectual and social growth. We are currently enrolling for the new academic year. We offer tours daily between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. without an appointment. We encourage families to tour the facility during these times so they can see the curriculum in action without interference of nap-time or parent drop-off/pick-up. If those hours are inconvenient, we would be delighted to set up a tour for your family at a separate time. Our tours concentrate on the age group applicable to your child, but we are always happy to show you the entire facility. After the tour, a member of the management staff will happily answer all questions or concerns not already discussed during the tour, and will provide a packet of additional information to help assist your decision in enrollment.
Our family opened Pal-A-Roos Early Childhood & Child Development Center in Charlotte because we believe that child care is a sacred task — one that requires passion and professionalism. Our staff is comprised of experienced, qualified teachers who are committed to the emotional, physical, ethical and creative well-being of your child. Pal-A-Roos provides child care for infants as early as six weeks of age, waddlers/toddlers, two-, three- and four-year-olds. We also offer kindergarten prep in our preschool, and a program for school aged children. Each age group is separated into their own rooms or classrooms. For example, our infant rooms have specific cribs for each child as well as a no-shoes rule to keep the space clean.
At Pal-A-Roo’s, we implement an all-ages curriculum based on the Addison-Wesley Active Learning Series program. This curriculum involves “active” learning that invites children to learn from the world around them using their minds and bodies. Our ultimate goal is to prepare your child for kindergarten. In fact, our parents are proud to learn that Pal-A-Roo’s students consistently place at the top of their kindergarten class! Pal-A-Roo’s has robust programming for a range of ages. Depending on your child’s age, we will explore learning through abstract concepts, like colors, shapes, letters and numbers. Children then advance to comprehensive reading and language programs, with many children proud to learn how to write their own name! Age-appropriate computer software is also used in the curriculum. When children graduate to our pre-school (pre-K) curriculum, they are actually participating in a curriculum that is currently in many kindergartens. This is why so many Pal-A-Roo’s graduates are advanced in their kindergarten classes. At the end of pre-K, students love to participate in our annual cap and gown ceremony as we celebrate all of their achievements! For children who are school aged, Pal-A-Roo’s becomes an environment where they can relax after the school day, play, and do homework. They are allowed to enjoy our playground, indoor gym and computer station.
Parental involvement is highly encouraged at Pal-A-Roo’s. We have an open door policy allowing parents to drop by and spend time with their children within the facility at any time of day. Multiple times a year, we host family events for all to enjoy. Most recently, we celebrated Spring Fling, Family Movie Night, Fall Festival and more! Parents of three- and four-year-olds are also encouraged to attend Curriculum Night, where we discuss strategies for home learning so your child is best prepared for kindergarten.
If you are interested in enrolling your child at Pal-A-Roo’s, we encourage you to call or visit our facility so a member of our management team can walk you through the process! In addition to receiving a Parent Handbook with policies and guidelines, you will be required to provide additional paperwork to satisfy NC Division of Child Development requirements. Without the required paperwork, you will not be allowed to drop your child off at Pal-A-Roo’s. We require tuition every week, regardless of attendance. But after 90 days of enrollment, we offer parents an opportunity to apply for a ½ off discounted enrollment for two weeks. This discount allows families to go on vacation without paying full enrollment for their child’s spot! In the event we are not accepting additional applications for enrollment, we encourage your family to fill out a waiting list application. We look forward to welcoming your family!
